There is a life in you, search that life,
Search the
secret jewel in the mountain of your body,
Hey you, the passing away
friend, look for with all your strength,
Whatever you are looking for,
look in yourself not around.
Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi
Hay una vida en tí, búscala, busca la joya secreta en la montaña de tu cuerpo,
¡Eh!, tú, amigo que estás de paso: Busca con todas tus fuerzas,
lo que sea que busques, dentro de tí, no a tu alrededor.
Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi

2. If the beloved is musician,
I am once "Chang" once "Taar" day and night. (chang and taar are two Persian musical instruments) You hit me (to play the music) and it won't hurt (yet the music plays) I am unwell (drunken by your love), day and night. Oh beloved, who holds the leash for all the lovers, I am amongst the chain of your lovers day and night. The life of day and that of night, is all yours. 3. I am waiting for you, day and night.
From the night you promised me to visit me, I count days and nights, day and night. I am restless to see you, day and night. I won't take my head off your skirt, day and night. The life of day and that of night, is all yours. I'm waiting, I'm waiting, day and night. |

Rumi's message transcends the limitation of language and the boundaries of time. Human beings were born for unlimited freedom and infinite bliss, and their birthright is within their grasp. But in order to reach it, they must surrender to love. What makes Rumi's expression of this message different from other expressions is his extraordinary directness and uncanny ability to employ images drawn from everyday life.
